Lee Magiday founded Sleeper Films to build a strong independent film & TV slate with compelling and resonant stories.
Prior to Sleeper, Lee was a producer on Yorgos Lanthimos’ multi-award winning The Favourite starring Olivia Colman, Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz. Lee also produced The Lobster which starred Colin Farrell and Rachel Weisz, which won the Jury Prize at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival.
Lee was Associate Producer on box office hit The Guard, directed by John Michael McDonagh starring Brendan Gleeson and Don Cheadle.
Lee has over 30 years experience in the industry - prior roles have included heading up Focus Features’ offices in Europe as VP Acquisitions & Production; Director of Acquisitions at PolyGram Filmed Entertainment and Universal Pictures International and as an in-house Producer for Element Pictures after setting up their London offices.
Lee consults for various bodies including the BFI, NFTS, Screen Ireland and the BIFAs.
