Maramedia was founded in 2008 by Nigel Pope and Jackie Savery, and is Scotland's leading independent TV production company specialising in wildlife film-making. They create world-class natural history content for broadcast across a variety of platforms for international clients such as the BBC, ITVG, PBS, National Geographic and ORF. Working with key talent like David Attenborough, Ewan McGregor, David Tennant and Kirsty Wark, they pride themselves on telling stories that need to be told and on making quality films that have a life beyond broadcast.

Their critically-acclaimed BBC Scotland series Hebrides – Islands on the Edge was narrated by Ewan McGregor and nominated for BAFTA, Jackson Hole and Wildscreen Awards, winning the prestigious PANDA award for Best Series in 2014. Together with its sequel, Highlands - Scotland's Wild Heart, the two series have been sold in over 100 countries across the globe. Recent RTS and Bafta award nominated shows include Hotel Armadillo, a single documentary narrated by David Attenborough following the rarely glimpsed lives of giant armadillos in Brazils Pantanal and The Menopause And Me, authored by Kirsty Wark. Their award winning children’s show Gudrun The Viking Princess - narrated by David Tennant - is currently in production for a second series on CBeebies.
